Welcome From Twitter!

Thanks so much for popping over from Twitter!  We’re glad you found us.

The Risky Kids is a joint venture, written by long-time friends Angie Six and Lisa Abramson.  Little did we know when we met in a playgroup with our just-born children in 2003 that we would share a similar parenting philosophy: play more, worry less.

The Risky Kids is our place to share a different way to play and parent: one that worries less, encourages freedom and fun, and yes, might include a few bumps and bruises.  While we won’t be throwing any machetes or bungee-jumping, we will push the boundaries of what society today considers “safe” play.  Through reflecting on issues on play today, sharing our favorite books, toys and activities, and making our way through Gever Tulley’s book 50 Dangerous Things (You Should Let Your Children Do), we hope to make risky play everyone’s business.  You can find more about Angie and Lisa on our About Page.

If you like what you see, you should definitely subscribe to The Risky Kids via an RSS feed so you don’t miss a single escapade.  Don’t forget to Like us on Facebook and follow our Pinterest boards!

If you’re here for more business-like purposes, The Risky Kids are open to blog advertising, reviews, PR relationships, media buys, and brand ambassador programs.  Conference sponsorships, personal appearances and speaking engagements will also be considered.  Please contact us at theriskykids@gmail.com with any requests.
